The Brief
To provide a modern synthetic grass tennis court with excellent drainage properties suitable for a valley floor setting deep in the Cotswolds, providing minimal maintenance for play all year round. DOE Sport were invited to tender for the contract by top quality construction company Midland Building Services.
Build up and delivery
DOE Sport North worked with the clients advisors to deliver a prestige private tennis court using our 11mm Olympus sand dressed synthetic grass. The site was carefully chosen to ensure a nearby mature Oak tree remained unaffected. A slight deviation of the local watercourse ensured the installation did not affect the local ecology. The area was levelled by the construction team before we took over the site and continued with the fully porous construction, with frost resistant hard carboniferous limestone sourced from the only suitable quarry in the region. The surround fencing was lowered in height along the long sides to allow the client to enjoy the beautiful vista whilst playing tennis, without feeling fenced in. Then the single colour synthetic grass dressed with Green rubber crumb complimented the Green field surroundings.
