The Brief
To construct a new 3G pitch for Dunfermline Athletic to use for first team training and performance academy training and matches. The facility would also be used for the Pars foundation, a community based organisation providing football programmes for the local community. Dunfermline AFC had been training on other facilities around FIFE and the installation of a new 3G pitch would provide the stepping stone to develop an Academy and football centre for the professional club and the Pars community to be proud of.
Build up and delivery
DOE Sport North worked with Sports Labs to develop a detailed design for a facility to meet a challenging budget. The planning and design stage of the project started in 2021 and works eventually commenced in November 23. It was a challenging build in the wettest winter in over 8 years, however works were completed on programme and slightly under budget which is testament to the team involved.

The Results
The new 3G pitch has been very well received in its early use, with summer programmes planned for the community use prior to a busy pre-season period for the football club and associated academy teams. The Club now have a pitch tested to FIFA QUALITY to conclude phase 1 of the Academy development.
